Famous ’90s women we still have crushes on

There is no other time quite like the ’90s. Sure, every decade had its own thing, like the ’70s with its free love and its bell-bottoms, and the ’80s with Madonna and the crazy hairstyles. But the ’90s were the amazing, wild years when people could really let loose and be themselves.

It’s hard to believe that it’s almost been three decades since the beginning of these years, since it seems like they happened just a little while ago (or maybe we’re just getting older faster than we thought). The ’90s were also a time when incredible women rose up to become famous and adored.

As the American pop culture and fashion had major influence over the world, these ladies became role models for young girls all over the globe. Whether they were singers, or actresses, or models – every woman wanted to be them, and every man wanted to be with them. These talented women truly brought girl power to the center of attention, and we loved them for it.

The wonderful decade was the one that brought us Beverly Hills 90210, Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera, Xena the Warrior Princess, the Spice Girls, Who’s the Boss?, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and many more. The girls and women who were featured in movies, TV shows, and music videos, were the not only the greatest role models, but were subjects of our admiration. Everyone was crushing on these gorgeous and supremely talented girls. We had posters of them all over our bedroom walls, and every girl wanted to dress like her favorite star.

They made us believe that we can do everything, and were true trailblazers for all the women who followed them and brought their own thing to the music, film, and TV industries. That’s part of what makes them unforgettable in many people’s eyes, as they still idolize them until today.

But it’s been two decades since the ’90s, and these girls and young women have since grown and evolved over the years. They’ve kept developing their careers and reached new heights, got married, started families, won awards, and continued to act as a source of inspiration to women everywhere.

As we were overcome with a wave of ’90s nostalgia, we decided to check what these empowering ladies have been up to since we last watched them on our non-flat screens, and listened to them on our Walkman devices. These actresses, music artists, and daughters of celebrities who made a name for themselves, all ruled the fashionable decade and had people following their lead. And over the years, they’ve kept moving forward and doing incredible things, proving they will forever be as awesome as they were in the ’90s.
