Homeless man gets a makeover that changes his life

Since the first person caught a glimpse of their reflection, the importance of making a good first impression has been clear. Whether you are preparing for a job interview, audition, or a first date, the way one sees you at first glance can often affect whether or not you get the job, land the part, or a second tryst. Of course, first impressions are based on a lot of different factors such as one’s personality including their friendliness, patience, politeness, and a good firm handshake as your dad had probably taught you. But then, of course, there is also the physical appearance factor. Unfortunately, it is more often than not the latter that plays a bigger role in how one initially perceives us.

Whether we like to admit it or not, we are all guilty of judging someone right away based on how they look.

Let’s face it, when we meet someone for the first time who is dressed in designer clothing, with fancy and expensive accessories, we usually assume that this person is wealthy and successful. On the other hand, if we see someone who is not dressed so well, with messy hair or clothes, we could assume that they are poor or simply just do not care (either that or, like a young Ethan Hawke, they’re a ’90s heartthrob).

Of course, it is silly for us to make these assumptions solely based on how someone looks. After all, someone who is extremely well-off could decide to go out in pajamas, or someone who has financial issues could look like they are dressed to the nines. These kinds of assumptions happen by nature every day.

This could be why, over the years, people have become more and more obsessed with the way they look. Some people take it so far to shell out money that they don’t necessarily have on fancy clothes, jewelry, handbags, or even the extreme – cosmetic surgery.

So in a society where appearance is everything, it is understandable why those who are not satisfied with the way they look try to undergo some sort of change in order to boost their confidence and self-esteem. However, an expensive new wardrobe or drastic plastic surgery is not for everyone, and sometimes just a simple makeover can get the same job done. In fact, sometimes a makeover can even change someone’s entire life.

This is exactly what happened to a Spanish man named Jose Antonio. Jose had become homeless after struggling with mental health issues. After 25 years of living on the streets, he had become used to the lifestyle and stopped caring about what other people thought of him. However, after one kind owner of a hair salon approached him and offered to give him a free makeover, which would mean trimming his grown-out hair and beard, his life changed completely.
