Inspiring Interracial Celebrity Couples

Halle Berry and Olivier Martinez

There should be a law for two such gorgeous beings from getting together, but lucky for us, there isn’t. Halle and Olivier were married in 2013 and have a son together, a younger brother to Halle’s daughter from a previous relationship. The two are technically still together, but after three years, Halle decided to file for divorce. Halle is a history making actress, as her 2002 Oscar win for Best Actress, made her the first African-American woman to ever win the award.

Matthew McConaughey and Camila Alves

Everyone’s favorite Texan (and actor, of course), Matthew McConaughey, fell in love with a woman as special as he, Brazilian model, Camila Alves. They met in 2006, and he proposed to the stunning lady on Christmas day 2011 (how amazingly romantic is that?). They are now the proud parents of three beautiful children – Levi, Vida, and Livingston. You will find these two on red carpets together, walking around Los Angeles with their children, traveling all over the world, and over all making the world a more beautiful place.

George Lucas and Mellody Hobson

George may have created the epic Star Wars and Indiana Jones franchises, but it’s his relationship with wife, Mellody that has us swooning. They met in 2002 and married ten years later in 2012 at his home, which he aptly named, the Skywalker Ranch. They also have a daughter, Everest, together, who they dote over. Mellody is a big shot herself, holding the position of President of Ariel Investments, and Chair of the Board of Directors of DreamWorks Animation. Talk about a power couple!

Filmmaker George Lucas (R) arrives at newly-renovated Ford's Theatre with Mellody Hobson, president of Ariel Investments, for a gala to mark the 200th anniversary of the birth of US President Abraham Lincoln, February 11, 2009, in Washington, DC. Lucas will receive the Lincoln Medal Award for his accomplishments which exemplify the character and legacy of Lincoln, who was assassinated at the Theatre in 1865. Robin Thicke and Paula Patton

Robin Thicke and Paula Patton were actually high school sweethearts! This little dose of information got us all mushy at the thought. The duo married in 2005, later welcoming their son, Julian, in 2010, and sadly divorced in 2014 following allegations of infidelity on Robin’s part. They were one of our favorites for a while though! Robin has since tried to get Paula back, several times in fact, but alas, the duo wasn’t meant to be, and Paula wouldn’t take him back.

Jacob Fishel and Rutina Wesley

Jacob and Rutina attended the prestigious performing arts school, Juilliard, together, which is where they met and started dating. The adorable duo both graduated in 2005 and married that same year. Unfortunately, their relationship didn’t last past the 8 year mark, with Rutina filing for divorce in 2013. Maybe it was the bi-coastal way of life they were leading, splitting their time between Los Angeles and New York, that sealed the nail on their relationship. Either way they were an adorable couple while they lasted.

Chris Evans and Naomie Harris

We aren’t sure if this is just a rumor or not, but Chris Evans and Naomie Harris were photographed together on a date! They also walked the red carpet together, which in Hollywood is practically like being prom king and queen and announcing to the world that you’re a couple. Chris and Naomie would make a ridiculously cute couple, so we’re kind of hoping the dating rumors are true. Chris is known for being Captain America, while two of Naomie’s best roles are in the James Bond films, as well as the Pirates of the Caribbean films.

Wolfgang Puck and Gelila Assefa

Renowned chef, Wolfgang Puck, married the lovely Ethiopian fashion designer, Gelila Assefa, in 2007 on the stunning island of Capri. Since their nuptials, the couple has welcomed two children together. Puck has four children in total, two from his previous marriage. He’s been married a total of three times, this latest marriage to Gelila seeming to be the one that finally sticks. They look very good together, and have been known to have a cute banter between them, which we all know is one of the keys to a successful relationship.

Iman and David Bowie

The legendary late musician, David Bowie, was married to the equally legendary model, Iman, for over 24 years, until him death in January 2016. Their relationship was our proof that no matter the differences and the Hollywood lifestyle of tours and sets, love is not dead (like Hollywood is trying to make us believe!). The couple had three children between them, each one had a child from a previous relationship, and together they welcomed a daughter in the year 2000.

Justin and Keisha Chambers

Another example of beautiful and lasting love – Justin Chambers and his wife, Keisha. The two have been married since 1993, meeting through the modeling agency Keisha worked at. Justin was there to model Calvin Klein underwear (how appropriate… and tempting). Justin and Keisha have five, yes, five, children together and have careers to boot; especially with Justin being one of the longest standing characters on the hit show, Grey’s Anatomy. Who says you can’t have it all? Keisha used to be a model booking agent, so she isn’t far from show business at all.

Adam Housley and Tamera Mowry

Adam Housley is a Fox News reporter, but perhaps even more importantly, he’s married to the former child star, Tamera Mowry (one half of the twin set of Tia and Tamera). After six years of dating, they got married in 2011 in Napa Valley and have since brought two kids into the world, son John Tanner in 2012, and daughter Ariah Talea in 2015. Now married for over five years, the couple is as strong as ever. We love a happy ending!

Cuba Gooding Jr. and Sara Kapfer

Another case of the high school sweethearts. Cuba and Sara were married in 1994. They were happily together for 10 years before calling it quits in 2014. And like the other case of high schools sweethearts on this list, we still love them as a couple despite their breakup. During their ten year marriage, the couple welcomed three children together – Spencer, Mason and Piper, all of whom are loved by their parents and are adorable. Sara filed for divorce from Cuba, but we are sure there’s still love there, surely when there are children involved!

Chrissy Teigen and John Legend

This union was made in heaven. Chrissy and John are two people that seem to truly complete one another. The couple met while filming a music video and the rest is history. The two were married in 2013, Chrissy documenting her life with John by way of her Instagram account. In 2016, John and Chrissy welcomed daughter, Luna, to their family. Once again we see it all on Chrissy’s social media accounts, but we are totally fine with her sharing the love. John’s career is transitioning to acting in addition to his musical talents, most recently in the film, La La Land.

Alfre Woodard and Roderick Spencer

Is this a list for the longest marriages too? Might as well be. Alfre and her husband, Roderick, were married in 1983 and are still going as strong as ever! The couple adopted two children together throughout their marriage, daughter Mavis, and son Duncan. Quite impressive if we do say so ourselves. Alfre is still a busy bee with her acting career and being one of the most respected actresses in Hollywood. She is also very hands on at home, as it is important to her to be as present as she can for her children.

Chris Noth and Tara Lynn Wilson

We know him better as the character of Big from Sex and the City, but the world, and wife Tara Lynn, know him as Chris. The two met in 2002 at the music spot, The Cutting Room, where Chris was working at the bar (which he also co-owns). Chris and Tara dated for 10 years before finally marrying in 2012. In 2008 the happy couple welcomed son, Orion. We like how they lived by their own rules, babies before wedding and all that. Tara is also an actress, but has taken a break from acting to care for their son.

Randy and Erika Jackson

Randy is best known for his job as an American Idol judge and successful musician, but he’s on this list for his 18 year marriage to wife Erika. Although it saddens us that the two couldn’t make it work, we’re happy that they parted amicably and remain close. The couple has two children together, daughter Zoe and son Jordan. Randy also has a daughter from a previous relationship, named Taylor. We would often see Randy and Erika on the red carpet together, as we see in the image below. Ah, the good ol’ days.

Kanye West and Kim Kardashian

One of the most talked about couples of the decade, without a doubt. Kim Kardashian and Kanye West met years before they started dating, each of them in other relationship (which we could all see on Kim’s reality tv show, Keeping Up with the Kardashians). They were friends for many years before friendship turned to romance. The powerful couple married in 2014, in, where else, a castle in Florence, Italy. They now and have two kids together, daughter North, and son Saint. Yes, yes, we know the names are ‘unique’, but with parents like theirs, it’s no surprise.

Eva Mendes and Ryan Gosling

The VERY private couple, Eva and Ryan, have been together since 2011. There are rumors that they secretly married in 2016, but other sources say they are just engaged, but together nonetheless! Eva and Ryan have two daughters together, Esmeralda and Amada. We learned all of this information after the fact, as the couple is very good at keeping their lives on the down low. Good job on the mystery life, guys! Eva and Ryan are both very successful actors and as such the public is always eager to get to know them as best they can.

Dr. Dre and Nicole Threatt Young

What happens when you take a record producer and a lawyer and put them together? You get the magnificent couple that is, Dr. Dre and Nicole Young. The lovely duo married in 1996. Dre and Nicole have two children together, son Truice and daughter Truly. Dre himself has a total of six children, with four different women. However, as we are hopeless romantics, and apparently so is Dre, his marriage to Nicole is the real deal, they are still going strong, 20 years later.

Tina Turner and Erwin Bach

The wheels keep on turning for this relationship! Tina married German music executive, Erwin Bach in 2013, but the couple had been together for a very, very long time beforehand. 27 years to be exact! That’s a long time to wait to exchange vows. The couple is still going strong today and we’re very glad for it. The couple don’t have children together but Tina does have two sons from her previous relationship (one with the infamous Ike Turner).

FKA Twigs and Robert Pattinson

Together since 2014, the couple is engaged to be married. Since Robert’s public break up with Kristen Stewart, he’s been very private about his relationship with Twigs, we couldn’t blame the two, really. Here’s hoping these two crazy kids make it. Rob is known for several films, but honestly, mostly from the Twilight franchise, where Twigs is a very successful singer and dancer who is also from Rob’s native England.

Kendra Wilkinson and Hank Baskett

Kendra made the switch from Hugh Hefner to Hank Baskett right after she moved out of Hef’s place. The couple married in 2009 and had the ceremony at her old stomping grounds – the Playboy Mansion. The blonde bombshell and the wide receiver had their own reality show, showing their daily life and marital woes. The couple has two children together, son Hank Jr, and daughter, Alijah Mary. Both of their children are model level beautiful.

Zoe Saldana and Marco Perego

Marco and Zoe met in March 2013, and married in June 2013 (count that – that’s 3 months of dating!). It was meant to be though, as the couple is still happily married and have expanded their family with their twin sons, Cy and Bowie. Marco, being the modern artist he is, took Zoe’s last name when they got married. Marco is an Italian artist who beautifully balances Zoe’s life in the spotlight.

Khatira Rafiqzada and Michael Ealy

Another slightly tense beginnings. When Michael married Khatira, there were those that were upset that he didn’t marry an African-American woman. We on the other hand are very happy that he chose the woman he loved and felt he wanted to spend the rest of his life with. Michael and Khatira married in 2012 after four years of dating. They now have one son together. We don’t know much about their personal life, as they keep to themselves more often than not.

Kylie Jenner and Tyga

Kylie and Tyga’s relationship has been a topic of discussion for a while now; luckily not because of anything that has to do with race. The two have been together (granted, there was a lot of on and off going on) since 2014. What makes this relationship a complicated one is Tyga’s previous relationship with Blac Chyna, you know, the one that is currently with Kylie’s brother, Rob? Tyga and Kylie shower one another with extravagant gifts and share their love all over social media.

Michael Jordan and Yvette Prieto

Yvette is a former model and dancer who met Michael in a Miami nightclub in 2008. They got engaged in 2011 and married in 2013. Yvette also ‘inherited’ Michael’s three children from his previous marriage. The couples over the top wedding had over one thousand guests attend! The couple didn’t accept any gifts for their nuptials but asked people to donate the would be amount of a gift to charity.

Josh Holloway and Yessica Kumala

Just. Too. Pretty. This couple takes the cake in the stunning features department. Josh and Yessica met in 2002 after the stunner asked HIM for his number. Later that year, the Indonesian beauty and her man got married and now have two ridiculously beautiful kids, Hunter and Java. The couple are still going strong, after 14 years of marriage. Josh is known for the hit show, Lost and for basically being the reason for watching the show.

Ellen Pompeo and Chris Ivery

They’re just like us! Ellen and Chris met at the grocery store in 2003. The two married in 2007 and have two daughters together, Stella and Sienna. Despite being super busy on her hit show, Grey’s Anatomy, Ellen is always seen with her family out and about. Chris, being the romantic type, proposed to Ellen on her 37th birthday! Cool little fact: Michael Bloomberg, former Mayor of New York City, was the witness in their wedding.

Ashlee Simpson and Evan Ross

Ashlee is the slightly less known sister of Jessica Simpson, Evan in the son of music sensation, Diana Ross; so it only makes sense that these two would get together. The two married in 2014 and now have a daughter, Jagger, together. Ashlee may have started out as Jessica’s younger sister, but it was her musical success that put her on the map. Evan is also known for his minor roles in hit films like, The Hunger Games franchise.

Demi Lovato and Wilmer Valderrama

Demi and Wilmer made for a gorgeous couple. The two were on and off from 2010 to 2016. They ended their relationship officially, but will always have a spot in our collective hearts – they’re just so cute together! While they were together, the two were often seen on red carpets, basketball games, and social media (mostly hers). There was a time when we thought this adorable couple was going to tie the knot.

Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon

What Nick and Mariah had was commonly known as a whirlwind romance. They met on a music video set and MARRIED one month later! They did manage to stay together for a few years, have their twins, Moroccan and Monroe, and all that before later filing for divorce in 2014. These days Mariah is single, after another engagement that didn’t come to fruition. We still think about them every now and then… what if?

Janet Jackson and Wissam Al Mana

A bit of a crazy story with these two. Janet met Wissam in 2010 in Dubai. The couple eventually married, but kept it under the public radar for well over a year (good job!). And adding a cherry to that cake? Janet announced that she’s pregnant for the first time, at the age of 50. Incredible. Most recently, Janet has discussed the fact that she has converted to Islam, her husbands religion.

Lisa Bonet and Jason Momoa

We can’t imagine a better looking couple. Jason and Lisa met in 2005 and married in 2007. They have two children together, as well as a daughter, Zoe Kravitz, from Lisa’s previous relationship with Lenny Kravitz. You might recognize Jason as the gorgeous warrior on the first season of Game of Thrones, and Lisa for her acting in shows like The Cosby Show and A Different World. The 80s were her time to shine.

Rob Kardashian and Blac Chyna

Remember earlier when we talked about Kylie Jenner and Tyga, well here’s the complication – Rob and Blac Chyna. They make for a nice couple, recently welcoming their daughter, Dream Rene Kardashian. Chyna has done wonders for her love, Rob, helping him through rough times. We hope the two keep the love going… and that the whole Kylie and Tyga situation won’t be too awkward. The Kardashian family is very close knit, and many of them have an affinity for African American beauties.

Ice-T and Coco Austin

Ice-T and Coco are such a great couple! They laugh together, get through thick and thin together, and are just plain fun. The two married in 2002 and had a daughter, Chanel, in 2015. We foresee nothing that can tear these two lovebirds apart. Ice used to be a tough rapper back in the day, but he made a surprisingly successful turn to acting and devoted his time to his lovely wife, showing us how true love does it.

Eddie Murphy and Paige Butcher

Eddie has quite the romantic history. He is a father to nine, yes, NINE children, from five different women. But from 2012 he’s been with Australian model, Paige Butcher. The couple welcomed a daughter, Izzy, in May of 2016. The couple is undoubtedly gorgeous together, walking the red carpet showing the world their love for one another. Izzy is one lucky little one to have them as parents. We’re keeping out fingers crossed that this one sticks.

Kimora Lee and Tim Leissner

Kimora Lee used to be married to mega producer Russell Simmons, whom she had two daughters with (you may remember them from their reality show and tour of their palatial home). She was then in a relationship with Djimon Hounsou, and had a son with him. However, in 2013 she married Tim Leissner and had another son, named Wolfe. Kimora is a savvy businesswoman in her own right, she is a fashion designer and model.

Naya Rivera and Ryan Dorsey

Naya and Ryan married after only three months of dating, back in 2014. The two were previously linked in 2010. The two now have a son named Josey and are happily displaying their remarkable relationship through the streets of Los Angeles. Sadly, the two decided to divorce in November 2016. You know what the most important part is? That these two were together for as long as they were and they got an adorable son out of it.

Nicolas Cage and Alice Kim Cage

Nick met his wife, Alice Kim when she was just 20. Her mother did not approve and didn’t care that Nick was a famous actor. Despite her mother’s apprehension, Nick and Alice married and were together for 12 years before separating this year. By the way, when anyone tells you that age matters, it really doesn’t. A lot of these couples have an age gap, making age just a number.

Thandie Newton and Ol Parker

Thandie and writer-director husband, Ol Parker have been happily married since 1998, which is considered an eternity in Hollywood. The two have three children together, Ripley, Nico, and Booker. Thandie is a mega successful actress, playing in films like, Crash, The Pursuit of Happyness, 2012, and televisions runaway hit, Westworld. The couple can be seen from Los Angeles to London, where Thandie and Ol are from, always toting their children around.

Wesley Snipes and Nikki Park

Wesley Snipes and Nikki Park married in 2000. The couple share four children together and a bond that seems unbreakable. When Wesley was sent to three years in prison, Nikki stood by her husband throughout the entire ordeal. Now that’s love. The love birds were together for three years before marrying. The couple’s four children are, Akhenaten Kihwa-T, Iset Jua-T, Alaafia Jehu-T, and Alimayu Moa-T. Their names are inspired by her Korean heritage.

Zac Efron and Sami Niró

Two good looking people in Hollywood in one very good looking relationship. Zac and Sami have since broken up, but their relationship was too adorable not to document on this list. When they walked down red carpets or were seen on the streets of Los Angeles, they were a statement couple, their looks and vibes totally setting them apart from the rest of the crowd. Wishing them both equally beautiful relationships in the future!

Robert De Niro and Grace Hightower

A Hollywood love story made in heaven. Robert married Grace in 1997, and despite almost breaking up in 1999, the couple powered through and ended up stronger than ever. The two renewed their marriage vows in 2004, looking as in love as ever. Sweet! They have two children together, but Robert has six children of his own in total, plus four grandchildren. Now his latest film, Dirty Grandpa, makes us think he was method acting!

Reggie Bush and Lilit Avagyan

Together since 2011, Reggie definitely has a type (just look at her, doesn’t she remind you of anyone?). He was in a relationship with Kim Kardashian for several years, but that didn’t work out. So when he met and married Lilit, another Armenian woman who bares a dazzling resemblance to Kim, eyebrows went up and eyes rolled. Nevertheless, the two have two children together and seem to be as happy as ever.

Vanessa and Kobe Bryant

Kobe and Vanessa met in 1999, when they were 21 and 17, respectively. Their first years of marriage were tense as his parents didn’t approve of Kobe marrying an non-African-American. After the birth of their first child, though, his parents finally came around (good thing considering she wasn’t going anywhere). Kobe and Vanessa are still together, going on 15 years now. The couple have two daughters together, Natalia Diamante and Gianna Maria-Onore.

Bill Maher and Coco Johnsen

Former model and Playboy Cybergirl Coco Johnsen dated Bill Maher for about a year and a half from the beginning of 2003 until the end of 2004. However, the two did not part ways very amicably, and Johnsen actually ended up suing the comedian. She sued Maher for $9 million over the fact that Maher allegedly promised to marry her, as well as allegedly calling her racist names. The suit was thrown out.

Jessie James Decker and Eric Decker

A lot of women enjoy the easy rise to celebrity status which typically comes with marrying a professional athlete. However, Italian Jessie James Decker was one of the few who did not have a need to marry for fame, she had already made her own! Jessie is a country music singer whose album released back in 2009, and she also has a clothing and swimsuit line in conjunction with Amore & Sorvete. So, she was already big by the time she got married to her football playing husband in 2013.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle

And now, the moment you’ve all been waiting for. How could you not be, when all we’ve been hearing about lately is the wonderful relationship, engagement, and eventual marriage of actress Meghan Markle and Prince Harry. They originally got together in late 2016, and when they got engaged in late 2017, “the royal wedding” is all anyone could talk about. Now that the pair are happily married, the sky is the limit and we can’t wait to see what the world has in store for them.
